We are gearing up for the last of the gallery nights before the start of what will most likely be a long, hot and busy summer.  Renee Vandevere just left with the very few pieces she didn't sell, and Bereniche will be here tomorrow to gather her remaining paintings.  On Thursday installation will begin for the Saturday show.  We've come to look forward to these transition days, sadly watching one artist's work come down and then getting excited all over again as the new work goes up!

When we first moved into this space, I was so focused on getting desks and the internet hooked up, that I didn't give much thought to all the bare walls... and then I began to notice them... really notice them.  It was on a whim that one day I thought out loud "We ought to see if any local artists would like to have a show here.  We have the space.  It could be fun.  It could be a great way to bring people into the office!"

Our first show was more successful than I would ever have imagined.  The artists and musicians "got" the concept of using our space to market both Elle Realty and the works of local artists, and thanks to our good friend Clayton Lee Bailey, we quickly got schooled on what to do!  In a matter of hours, the place was transformed from our little real estate enclave into a true art gallery with lighting, candles, wine, art, live music and laughter!  Gallery Night at Elle Realty was born.

We've since held two additional Gallery Night events, and the interest and attendance continues to grow.  We've met a few hundred people that we didn't know before; our company name has appeared on countless facebook pages, artists blogs and websites; and every single week there are people stopping by the Elle office to see the artwork and learn more about us and what we are doing.  The artists have fared quite well, too!  In all, it's been a win-win for everyone involved:  us, the artists, the musicians and especially our community.

With summer approaching, and the sun setting later, the heat has started to affect our ability to keep the space cool and the ambiance to our liking-- which is one of the reasons that after Saturday night, we are taking a summer hiatus from the Gallery Night events.  We will resume again the 3rd Saturday of September (September 17th to be exact).  In fact, artists have already been booked through November!

It's been wonderful to have all this terrific original artwork here, and the thought of looking at all those bare walls all summer long is completely unacceptable, so we are creating an official office-gallery, where the works of a variety of artists will remain available for us to enjoy and patrons to buy!  We're also talking with some other artists about a very special event that we plan to coordinate with the White Rock (Second Saturday) Market during the summer months, so stay tuned!

Lastly, if you are looking for something fun to do this Saturday, April 16th between 7 and 10pm, come by for our April Gallery Night and see the beautiful works of this month's artists:  Gina Marie Dunn and Liz Bogard.  Live music provided by Jonathon Fisher.
